What is ease-ground 

ease-ground main capabilities are:

  • Satellite Tasking and Subscription management
  • Catalogue data exploitation
  • Ingestion, Inventory and Big Data Archiving service
  • Distributed Computing & Processing infrastructure

  • Monitoring & KPI Reporting services
  • News & Advertising contents management

From the technological point of view, the new paradigm of UGS (User Ground Segment) is moving towards models of data exploitation in which four macro-elements converge:

  • Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning / Deep Learning), capable of generating new predictive patterns to access satellite data and mission & system automation reducing operational costs
  • Scalable and flexible ICT infrastructures (Cloud) able to guarantee sufficient storage and calculation capacity to enable efficient data exploitation and to set-up geo-spatial services
  • Satellite Big Data, acquired systematically by Optical and SAR satellite missions, both commercial and non-commercial
  • Native integration with Thematic Platforms and Vertical Thematic Applications to support the provision of geo-information services

In order to face these emerging needs, ease-ground aims at offering a New Generation of UGS, basing on the following enablers:

  • As-a-Service and/or As-A-System configuration
  • Artificial Intelligence to improve automation and near users to data
  • Building Block concept to easily provide tailoring of functions thanks to architectures based on micro-services
  • Interoperability adopting standards for interfaces – open and based on standard (OGC HMA, SPS, WPS, WCS, WMS, OpenSearch, OpenAPI, OData, etc)
  • Cloud native (IaaS and PaaS support) to provide Scalability and Reliability
  • Zero downtime during updates thanks to Micro-services CaaS solution (Container-as-a-Service)
  • Augmented User Experience

Who can use ease-ground?

ease-ground can be used by anonymous and registered users.
All users can query and view products, whilst downloading products and ordering functions are possible only for registered users.

How can I access ease-ground?

For accessing and ordering functions, please register writing to info@ease-u.space.

Can I filter my search?

ease-ground provides a wide set of filters to further narrow down your search results.

Two search modes are available:

  • one based on a textual search box, in which to write the search parameters in textual form (e.g. Rome last two years)
  • one based on more specific search tools, such as the list of missions, the list of datasets, the possibility to select specific search parameters (e.g. Cloud coverage, Orbit direction, Swath identifier etc.), and the possibility to draw on a map, using special tools, the area of interest for the search (i.e. circles, polygons, points, bounding box), or to manually enter the coordinates of the area.
